Challenge 9: Favorite Photo

       This is my favorite photograph. To be honest, I don't know where it comes from, who the people are, or what the exact situation is. What I like about the picture is that appearances do not matter. Punk people are perceived as anarchists, rebels, and associated with violence. This shows that it's far from the truth. Just because people have different interests or dress a certain way does not define their character. As shown, a little boy is touching the studded spikes on the punk male's jacket, and the male looks genuinely happy and nice. I have always thought it's unfair that people are perceived a certain way due to the media, one example is people like the young male in the picture. I have the same interests, though I do not dress like that anymore, I think it's wonderful that the male is not perceived as a villain in the picture, but merely a nice young man that wants to make the little boy happy. 

Challenge 8: Footprint

I tried googling my name into both Google and PeekYou, but wasn't able to find anything. I had to really look for myself into subcategories. Like on facebook, the default person from my name was someone else and on Peek You i had difficulty finding myself.
     To be honest, I wasn't surprised at my findings because I don't really interact with media. What I did find surprising was that I wasn't mentioned on a program that I did a year ago in which I got the opportunity to travel to the Middle-East with a handful of schoolmates who studied Arabic. The school name was mentioned, but I figured they would name the students individually. I don't really have much to show for the footprint, which could be bad since it doesn't leave an impression. I guess I would need to be more noteworthy for future employers and/or college recruiters.

My Favorite Media

     My favorite type of media is Youtube. What I like about Youtube is that it has a lot of uses. I mainly go on Youtube to watch shows, anime, movies, music, or Youtubers. The videos you find can either hold a personal message or they can just be a source of entertainment.
     I have been using Youtube constantly for a year, and what made me want to watch more videos were Youtubers. Youtubers are people who frequently post on Youtube and make money off it. Before, I only used Youtube as a way to find music or watch anime in middle school. Nowadays, I mainly use it to watch the videos of Youtubers that I have subscribed to or to get new music.
     The type of Youtubers that I am subscribed to are different. For example, I have a news channel, a bunch of entertainment channels, beauty gurus, and a subscription to a Youtuber that talks about social problems in our society. There is a lot of content that is uploaded to Youtube every day, and it is likely that you can find a video or even a person that you can relate to or make you feel better.

Challenge 7: Spot the Spin

     On Extra.com, I read the article about Tori Spelling coming out and saying that both her husband and her cheated. I read more articles about her and came across another article in Access Hollywood about why the scandal could be fake. The Access Hollywood article gave pretty good reasons about why it could be fake, and the most compelling was that they needed money. She probably thought a scandal could get her a reality tv show, which would bring in money, much like it did to the Kardashians. Whether or not it's true, I see this as a celebrity spin.

Challenge 6: Media Mogul

     Looking throughout KickStarter, I came across the film titled "Perception." The story follows a mentally sick kid who stays in a mental hospital in the 1950s. It will be about how the child perceives the world around him and how this distorted perception affects the treatment he receives.
     The reason I chose this film was because I liked the concept. I would like to see a film about mental illness and how it affects one's perception. It would also help bring light to real issues involving mental health and how you should treat others. To be honest, I am not sure if the film will be popular with audiences, however, if done well, it should be interesting as well as stimulating.

Challenge 5: Magazine Covers

     Kim and Kanye were on this month's cover of Vogue magazine. In my opinion, it is undeserved on her part because she has not done anything but star on reality tv and the star of a sex tape. Kanye, however, is a performer, and performers have been on the cover of Vogue before. Performers like stars of shows and even family of singers. Saying that the cover is a setback to fashion is over-exaggerating. Non-fashionable people or people who are not involved in the fashion world have been on the cover of Vogue before. It's to sell units. This (Kim and Kanye on the cover) is another form of selling more magazines. It is a controversy for the moment that will be forgotten by most people if given time.

Challenge 4: Audio Monitoring

     I would say my means of using audio are constant. The above schedule is how I spend most of my days. If it's not using iTunes on my laptop, it would be watching and listening to shows on my laptop, and then continuing to listen to my iTunes library whilst browsing Tumblr.  I was definitely not surprised by my findings. I know that I spend most of my time on the computer, so any audio would be from my iTunes, shows, or Youtube. I don't really use the radio, and if I do, it's internet radio (Pandora).
